World Anti Tobacco Day

Image
Every year, on 31 May, the World Health Organization (WHO) and global partners celebrate World No Tobacco Day This year’s theme is protection of younger generations, focusing on *Protecting youth from industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use*  As the tobacco industry is increasingly targeting young people as an emerging and vulnerable market for its addictive products, this is a pressing issue and a challenge for tobacco control policy-makers in every country.  As shown in researches, tobacco use increases the risk of severe COVID 19 infection. Therefore, awareness regarding ill use of tobacco & its products is important. BCIP campus is tobacco free and strictly prohibits use of any tobacco products by the students. #BCIP #ANTITOBACCODAY #SAYNOTOSMOKING #SAYYESTOLIFE

International Day for Biological Diversity

#bcip #BIOLOGICAL #DIVERSITY #DAY 22 May ,2020 It is celebrated to increase understanding & awareness of biological issues. As we all know the Covid-19 pandemic is impacting all parts of human society. Zoonoses with a wildlife reservoir represents a large spectrum of transmission modes. Urbanization plays a role in emergence of zoonoses. Urbanization results in significant changes to the wildlife communities characterized by low biodiversity. The spread of this zoonotic disease is a result of wildlife trafficking, habitat destruction & climatic changes done by human beings. However with decrease in fossil fuel burning, air quality in cities improve. The spread of virus is, therefore, helping in capping global rise in temperature in this way. Ban live animal markets that trade in wildlife. Stop illegal trafficking &  poaching of wild animals. "Don't Let Species Go Extinct, In This World We All Are Linked."

May 11 is observed as the National Technology Day. This day marks the anniversary of Pokhran nuclear tests of 1998 and India's technological advancements in this space. National Technology Day highlights the importance of science in daily life and encourages youngsters to embrace it as a career option. In the current scenario, even after a lockdown of more than a month the work has not stopped, THANKS TO MODERN TECHNOLOGY. The classes are still on, teacher student interaction is taking place but the surroundings have changed; the lectures of a four walled classroom are now taking place on our computer screens by means of ONLINE LEARNING. Most offices are still functional but the meeting rooms are now replaced by TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATION. WORK FROM HOME is a common scene in homes at present. Clinics and Hospitals are focusing on corona patients but also ensuring that other patients are not left behind. And this is possible due to TELEMEDICINE which again is a gift of technology. TEC...

North-East – have shown the way in keeping Covid-19 at bay by reducing its impact to the minimum, through rigorous social distancing practiced by the people and a high cure rate of infected patients shows a detailed assessment done by the Centre. Lets learn and practice social  distancing and emotional proximity like North East Indian states did.

Neck Exercises

Many of us spend our workdays sitting at our desk, which limits the functional mobility of the spine. This especially happens when we work from home; our movement might be limited to walking from our chair to the couch or from the kitchen to the bathroom. The good news is that exercises (that you can do at your desk!) can alleviate neck pain and stiffness. Before you start the exercises, consider warming your neck muscles by laying a heating pad on your neck for a few minutes. Or, take a warm bath or shower to relax those tense neck muscles. Here are a few easy exercises to try at the home to alleviate neck pain.

World Laughter Day

Image
*World Laughter Day- 3 may 2020* World Laughter day was first celebrated by Dr Madan Kataria, founder of worldwide laughter Yoga Movement, on January 10, 1998. There are innumerable benefits of laughing, as we all know…but it has become even more important in the ongoing crisis. Everyone is isolated in their homes, frustrated, irritated, some even devastated praying with all the might that situation gets better. Laughter and tears – both are responses to frustration and exhaustion—we advise you to prefer to laugh, as there is less cleaning to do afterwards.😂😉 Use this opportunity to reconnect with your family and friends, have a good dose of laughter daily with your loved ones, with whom you always wanted to spend time and remember- there is nothing in this world so irresistibly contagious as laughter!
