International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12 all around the world. This day highlights the importance of nurses in the healthcare sector. International nurses day marks the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale.

Right now, our healthcare workers are on the frontlines of battling the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) that’s spreading rapidly throughout our city, state and nation. They are putting themselves in the path of this virus in this unprecedented crisis. Our nurses are front line warriors that support patient care are rising to the occasion and caring for our most vulnerable populations.

The theme for International Nurses Day 2020 is 'Nursing the World to Health' focusing on the role of nurses globally.
